Lasa ICT Consultancy and Services

Lasa has provided ICT advice to mainly London based voluntary organisations since 1984. We all use ICT now, and increasingly depend on it to deliver important services. Lasa can help increase the efficiency of your current ICT equipment, saving you time and money; recommend and help install major new systems that will improve the delivery of your services; help you with purchasing, assessing quotes and options; establish sound arrangements for ICT support; and help you get a better understanding of ICT strategy, management, and best practice (including accessibility issues). We can pass on the skills and knowledge you need to go ahead and manage ICT yourselves.

We provide a range of services to organisations, funders and other consultants.

  • Knowledgebase - our comprehensive database of free ICT information and advice online, redeveloped as part of Lasa's work for the ICT Hub. The knowledgebase provides help and advice with your ICT queries and your ICT management issues. "Great overview of everything to do with ICT in the voluntary sector … the Knowledgebase provides a wide range of very good quality independent advice on ICT issues and practices." (Herefordshire In Touch)
  • Suppliers Directory - a free, searchable online source of trusted ICT suppliers to the voluntary sector
  • Healthcheck - an independent assessment of how ICT is helping you achieve your organisation's goals - or getting in the way!
  • Bespoke ICT Consultancy - for in-depth advice and practical support to make your ICT plans a reality. "The consultant was able to imagine the obstacles we may face and helped us to solve them". London voluntary sector agency.
  • Training - commissioned courses to help you use ICT to improve your services.

  • Circuit Riders - a technology support solution for the voluntary sector.
  • ICT Champion for London - a new post to support London voluntary sector rise to the challenges of ICT use and to develop sustainable ICT support projects. Funded by Capacity Builders until March 2008. Watch this space for more information.
  • Multikulti - information and advice in community languages.

Why Choose Lasa?

Free, we offer an initial meeting for about 1 hour at our premises to explore your needs and define the project for further consultancy work with us.

Independent Advice, aren't selling or reselling you anything, so we can give you unbiased advice about just how much or how little you should spend.

Understand the voluntary sector. We have provided ICT advice to the voluntary sector since 1984. As a voluntary sector agency ourselves we understand the values of the sector and the fact that organisations rarely have the ICT budgets available in the commercial world.

Advocate only ‘necessary’ ICT. We evaluate your current ICT and related policies, assessing staff ICT knowledge and your ICT support needs.

Collaborative and transparent. We pride ourselves on being open and honest about the process and will signpost you if what you require is outside our experience. We want to build your knowledge, not keep ICT as a geeky mystery, full of jargon.

Fee discounts for smaller organisations of up to 50%. We recognise ‘small is beautiful too’. Nearly 60% of UK voluntary sector organisations are estimated to be ‘very small’ under £10,000 funding, about 30% ‘ small’ £10,000 to £100,000 funding*. We take this into account when we work with an organisaition and in our fee structure.
*The UK Voluntary Sector Almanac, NCVO, 2004.

• We run innovative projects including the Circuit Rider project; AIMS - advice & information management software; Rightsnet - the essential welfare rights information site for advice workers; and Multikulti - information and advice in community languages.

Please see ICT healthchecks and Bespoke ICT Consultancy and Training pages.

South Bromley Community Shop

"I find all of the articles and downloads provided by Lasa absolutely invaluable. Not only as the excellent resources that they are in themselves but, moreover, it's like having my own security blanket to kick start my thought process or even just to confirm that, actually, sometimes I know more than I thought I did - although not often! Huge thanks."
